Karuna Reiki

The Sanskrit word “Karuna” means Compassion. It was William Rand who established and propagated the Karuna Reiki System using powerful symbols that had been revealed to him during his Reiki meditation. This inspired William Rand to develop Karuna Reiki as a path to reinforce the Reiki attunement further.

It is noteworthy to observe that Karuna Reiki energy is not the same as Usui Reiki. A lot of Reiki students feel that Karuna Reiki is much more powerful than Usui Reiki. The positive energy embraces them strongly and doesn’t simply flow around them. This feeling of being surrounded and flowing together with energy provides them with an inner strength and healing presence becomes more enhanced within them as they experience revelations of heightened spiritual connection.

Karuna Reiki reinforces our need to remain connected in a world that is changing all the time and giving vent to artificial closeness. This kind of positive awareness enables us to realize that we are all essentially divine embodiments who can bring compassion into a more powerful realm by allowing a higher, ancient wisdom to guide our thoughts as well as actions so that this life long motivation comprises the need to continue imparting the gems of knowledge as well as healing energy for generations to come.

In a way, it is best that we are able to embrace as well as interpret the invaluable concept of Karuna as an all embracing, motivating energy so that the sufferings of entire humanity can be ended with a lot of love and positive, healing energy. As we learn to fortify our minds to develop Karuna within, it becomes easier to speed up the ability to heal as well.

Reiki is used so that you can remove the suffering and illnesses of those who are around you in the best way possible. Without worrying about distinctions of caste, race, religion, or color, this is a true path that calls every one as equal beings who are divine embodiments without any forms of distinctions.

Thus, to infuse it with Karuna, the all encompassing value, we endow ourselves with the ability to go beyond the wounds of this world and heal ourselves and others around us with a lot of compassion.

Compassion, as we know, is one of main teachings propounded by the Buddha who believed that Karuna is the life giving force that is strengthen when positive energy of like minded, enlightened beings come together in a path of loving and caring for those whoa are less fortunate because they are caught up and trapped by the suffering as well as the violence that is rampant in all parts of this world.

Developing Karuna or Compassion is not easy but it is definitely possible to bring this within yourself because your ability to open up to this powerfully positive energy is a gift of god, nothing less.

When we refer to Karuna Reiki, there are 8 additional symbols that are used as a part of healing work that is intense or in depth. However, make sure that you don’t confuse Karuna Reiki with another system called the Karuna Ki Reiki, which is a different, advanced kind of a system meant only for Usui Masters.

Karuna Reiki is a beautiful way to light up the world around us with values that are more rewarding and lasting such as peace, goodness as well as harmony. This kind of compassion is what the world needs.

Quick Reiki Tip #2

Interested in getting a Reiki attunement or in becoming a Reiki practitioner? Check out the credentials of the practitioner or school. As a rule of thumb, the more established the school or practitioner is, the more likely you are to receive the full knowledge and power of Reiki.

Quick Reiki Tip #3

Reiki healing is an ancient Japanese technique for promoting better health. Usually administered by physical contact with the hands. It is based on the idea that energy flows through humans. When that force is low, humans are at a greater risk for illness or disease. When the force is elevated, individuals are happier and healthier.
