Reiki Massage

Reiki is an ancient healing practice that originated in Tibet. This practice has been done for almost 3000 years. The Japanese have used it for relaxation and stress reduction. Reiki is called a healing practice because it does in fact promote the healing process. This healing takes place through the Chi. Chi is the Japanese word for life force. Reiki itself is composed of two Japanese words, "Rei" which means "God wisdoms or higher power", and "Ki" which means "life force energy". Together Reiki is the spiritually guided life force, and that surrounds all of us.

We can all agree on the fact that we are all made up of energy. Everything in the world is made up of energy. Energy can not be created or destroyed; it can be used and manipulated for our benefit though. This is the idea behind Reiki. Reiki uses the “laying of hands” to manipulate the life force and re-energize, restore and heal the body. The life force is what keeps us alive, if that life force becomes low, as energy can at times, the a person is more likely to become ill or stressed. Likewise if our life force energy is high we are more likely to be healthy and also happy.

Understand that this “laying of the hands” is not a physical touch. The hands are used around the aura of the person, the energy field that surrounds each person. What is being manipulated is the energy not the skin. Reiki massage is actually the combination of Reiki attunement and massage. Both of these are very natural and safe healing practices that when combined together offer people some of the greatest physical, emotional and spiritual healing possible.

The Reiki massage most often begins at the head of the person and goes down the seven chakras. The hands of the Reiki massage therapist work in conjunction with the placement of the seven chakras. What are chakras? They are the energy stores of our body. This practice is used most often to alleviate pain so that the person has a better quality of life.

Reiki massage differs from typical massages that are giving because the hands of the practitioner are not working the tissues and muscles of the patient. The practitioner’s hands are actually very still and used more as a vessel to send the healing energy into the patient.

The patients receiving the Reiki massage can aspect to experience feelings of deep relaxation and new found vitality. With the destruction of the energy blockers that are in our bodies and the detoxification that takes place due to the Reiki massage you can also feel a more intense vibrational frequency in your body. You will truly feel more alive, more vibrant and healthier and happier then ever before.

Quick Reiki Tip #1

When choosing a Reiki Master, go for a few Reiki sessions conducted by different teachers. Determine how you feel about the lessons. Ask questions and determine if their ideas and philosophies align with yours. You are likely to enjoy lessons from someone you are comfortable with.

Quick Reiki Tip #2

Interested in getting a Reiki attunement or in becoming a Reiki practitioner? Check out the credentials of the practitioner or school. As a rule of thumb, the more established the school or practitioner is, the more likely you are to receive the full knowledge and power of Reiki.

Quick Reiki Tip #3

Reiki healing is an ancient Japanese technique for promoting better health. Usually administered by physical contact with the hands. It is based on the idea that energy flows through humans. When that force is low, humans are at a greater risk for illness or disease. When the force is elevated, individuals are happier and healthier.
